Program Overview: The MFC Internship Program, in collaboration with Milkshake Media, offers an exciting opportunity for students passionate about filmmaking to immerse themselves in the world of film production. Participants will engage in a blend of intensive workshops, hands-on industry experience, and collaborative project work, culminating in a final project. This comprehensive program aims to equip students with fundamental filmmaking skills, foster creativity, and provide valuable insights into various aspects of the film industry.
Program Structure:
1. Foundation Workshops (week 1)
Duration: 5 days, 3 hours each day
Day 1: Commercial Production Overview
Day 2: Foundations of Preproduction
Day 3: Post-Production Process Overview
Day 4: Visit to Gear House
Day 5: One-on-One Sessions and Introduction to Employers
2. Industry Experience (week 2, optional week 3)
Duration: 5 days, 5 hours each day
During the second week, interns will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a real-world production environment. Depending on project availability, interns will join a production house, such as Milkshake Media, or an active on-set production. They will gain firsthand experience in their chosen roles under the guidance of experienced professionals. Throughout the week, interns will be able to observe and interact with various departments within the production environment. This exposure will provide them with a holistic understanding of film production and the collaborative nature of the industry.
A possible extension to a third week may be available, contingent upon project availability, intern interest, and successful completion of week 2.
3. Final Project
Students will develop a comprehensive presentation or project based on their internship experience. This presentation will showcase their acquired skills, contributions to real film projects, and reflections on their learning journey. Students will present their projects to mentors, instructors, and industry professionals for feedback and recognition. It serves as a culmination of the internship, highlighting their growth and future aspirations in filmmaking.
